Our team brings together a unique mix of talents, from music education and sound healing to hands on product knowledge and genuinely great customer service. It creates a space that is diverse, welcoming and rooted in a real love of music.
We love helping people learn, explore and find the instruments that inspire them.
And yes, one of the perks is getting to play them whenever inspiration strikes.
Denise - Founder
With a lifetime immersed in music, I hold a university degree in Theory, Composition, and Music History, and bring over 30 years of experience teaching music in elementary schools. My journey took an exciting turn when I discovered crystal singing bowls, which led me to explore the world of Sound Practitioners. After hundreds of hours of training with leading experts and over 1,000 hours of research, I am dedicated to providing education that cuts through marketing hype, myths, and misinformation. My teaching approach makes complex concepts accessible and enjoyable for non-musicians. Whether you need guidance in selecting the perfect instruments or finding the right sounds for your needs, I’m here to help.
Ivan - The Founder's Better Half
Ivan is our master packer, making sure your instruments are shipped safely to you. When Ivan is not packing, he loves glazing the crystal singing bowls that are not perfect pitch. Using crushed gemstones to create our Fusion Gemstone Crystal Singing Bowls. Woodworking is another passion of his, crafting the furniture for both the singing bowl room and the gong room.
Eric
Part musician, part problem solver, Eric helps people find the sound that fits just right. Being a musician, Eric has a real love for music and the knowledge accompanying it, bridging the gap between technical knowledge and real world playing. Friendly, approachable and always tuned in to what a player needs, he makes every visit feel easy, helpful and inspiring.
Skye
Skye is our office manager who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She is the go to person for organization, communication and making sure the day-to-day actually works like it is supposed to. Think of her as the quiet engine of the office, making sure everything stays connected, efficient and welcoming for both the team and everyone who walks through the door. She connects customers with the right products and support. She blends product knowledge with great service.
Jenna
Jenna brings positive energy to the workplace! We really couldn't do our job without her. She works hard and wears many hats. Jenna is fast, efficient and always one step ahead of what the store needs.
Sakina
Our wonderful social media expert and marketing mastermind! Sakina makes sure everyone knows about all of the exclusive learning opportunities and incredible instruments Sound Journey Store offers.
Rose and Oakley
Rose gives our team direction while keeping the space welcoming, inspiring and full of good energy.
She works closely with customers, supports the team and brings a deep understanding of the store’s offerings. She has helped Denise build out the Art of Crystal Singing Bowls program, and is the maker of our Lindsay Lodge mallets, our signature bunny tail mallets made with loving care.
Oakley is an 11 year old rescue who joined the team in February 2026. He spends his days relaxingin the office.
Penny
Penny is our bouncy, playful, loveable big spirit! She makes her presence known with her bubbly personality so you are bound to meet her if you visit the Sound Journey Store.
Willow
Willow is our precious girl with an adorable personality. You can usually find her playing with Penny or cuddling up next to someone, making us melt with her sweet looks.
Theo
Are you feeling stressed? Theo, our 21lb Abyssinian cross, is a big cat with a big presence! You may encounter Theo’s unique meow. He’s one of two friendly cat therapists at the Sound Journey Store.
Felix
Felix is our sweet little 11 lb cat therapist alongside Theo. Felix is more coy- he might just come up to you for a pet, especially if you’re sitting down.
Taco and Tula
We would not let mom (Skye) leave home without us, so we come and sit under the window by mom's computer and bark at all the squirrels going by.
Daisy 2013-2022 and Chester 2012-2026
Daisy was our groupie - she loved sound baths and had to be where all the action was. You can see her in many of our videos, frequently walking into the room and laying down in the middle of a recording. She was always excited to meet new people when they came to our store. She was our lovable, sweet natured Irish Wolfhound!
Chester was our on-site 24/7 Security Guard. He got paid in belly rubs, and used his break time to chase squirrels. Chester loved to greet everyone with a bark and a howl, and was the happiest when exploring nature.
