Join us for an In-Person Training on the Creative Layering and Double-handed Flumie Techniques with Ken Little.
Learn these Advanced Flumie Techniques.
Pre-requisite: Introduction to Flumies or equivalent. Pre workshop practice of offhand flumie technique encouraged with pre-workshop optional drills provided.
Please Note: This training is open to all. For students wishing to join School of Sound, counts as 7 elective hours towards certification.
This is an advanced training on flumies.
In this full day workshop we will learn:
- Learn how to identify and express the overtones and higher harmonics of gongs through flumies
- Isolation and manipulation of overtones with flumies and percussive mallets
- Identifying and harnessing isolated gong surfaces to create new dynamics and harmonies
- Techniques for double-handed playing of friction mallets (drones, harmonic toning, and vibrato)
